Consultant Geriatrician with an interest in Research

Whipps Cross University Hospital, part of the Barts Health NHS Trust Group is looking for two full time Consultant Geriatricians with an interest in Research, to join our Older People’s Services team based predominantly on the Whipps Cross Hospital site.

The posts offer an exciting opportunity to join a growing team and to develop new models of working and services that support all older people attending the hospital and within the local community. Whipps Cross Hospital serves a local population with a high degree of frailty and within the Barts Health Group is being developed to be a centre for Geriatric medicine. As part of this strategy Older People’s Services is looking to develop as a centre for research and these posts are designed to begin this strategy. They would be ideal for Consultants wishing to combine Clinical work with a PhD. The precise nature of the clinical/research activity would be negotiated with the post holder.

These posts form part of the redevelopment of Geriatric Medicine at Whipps Cross Hospital and gives the post-holders a unique opportunity to participate in the redevelopment of the Hospital itself as well as the services we provide.

You must hold full registration with the General Medical Council and be on the Specialist Registrar or within 6 months of obtaining CCST.

 

The revised JD will be provided to shortlisted candidate before interview.
