Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust (CWPT) invites applications for two full time Consultants in General Adult Psychiatry to join a team providing comprehensive acute inpatient mental health services.
CWPT provides Mental Health, Learning Disability and Community services to people living in Coventry, Warwickshire and Solihull. Rated good by the CQC, the Trust is an organisation that is continuously improving and we welcome interest from individuals who want to make a difference.
We believe that high quality consultant appointments are key to providing quality services and ensuring senior clinical leadership. We are looking for self-motivated, enthusiastic, forward thinking individuals who can work within the Trust and with partners to develop a dynamic, responsive and patient centered service.
The posts will provide dedicated Consultant input into inpatient care and treatment, with the facility for frequent and flexible review of patients and timely discharge in liaison with CRHT services, Day services and Community Integrated Practice Units (IPUs).
One post will provide medical leadership to a 20 bed female ward (Westwood) and the other to a 20 bed male ward (Beechwood). The medical care provided is mostly for functional age independent patients with a usual length of stay of 20-25 days.
Each post is based on a 10 PA job plan (7.5 PAs in Direct Clinical Care and 2.5 PAs in Supporting Professional Activities). The post also requires participation in a Consultant on call rota with a frequency of approximately one in fifteen, with responsibility for both inpatients and community patients, attracting a supplement of 3%.
As the Trust is a teaching Trust with close links to Warwick Medical School the post holder will be expected to take part in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.
Criteria to apply include being a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, or having an equivalent postgraduate qualification in Psychiatry, full GMC Registration and eligibility for inclusion on the Specialist Register in psychiatry (or within 6 months of completing CCT).
