Specialty Doctor GA Psychiatry Acute Function Home Treatment
BSMHFT is excited to present our new progression posts for psychiatrists interested in working towards entry onto the Specialist Register via the CESR route.
We have obtained additional investment to augment our current crisis resolution and home treatment teams with key additional staff including specialty grade psychiatrists. This means that we now have the opportunity to recruit 7 more doctors to our home treatment service. Our investment means that there will be posts across our North, West, Central, South Birmingham and our Solihull teams. The post holder will be based at one of the 5 home treatment team bases which are listed at the bottom of the job description.
The post holder will provide clinical input in the integrated acute care pathway. The routine work involves assessing new patients referred to home treatment and the ongoing treatment and management of patients under the care of home treatment for management and treatment of acute psychiatric episodes. In-reach to the acute wards to support and identify patients suitable to continue their treatment under the home treatment team is also a component of the model of care and service delivery.
. We are looking for someone with enthusiasm and an appreciation of the opportunities and challenges of working within culturally diverse areas of Birmingham. You will have sound clinical skills and be approved, or eligible for approval, under Section 12 of the Mental Health Act. You will have full registration with the General Medical Council and experience of psychiatry at a Core Training grade. Excellent communication skills, team working skills and flexibility are essential. You will be encouraged to participate in continuing professional development, audit, research and teaching.
With hands on support from consultant colleagues, including portfolio development and exposure to a wide range of experience (including Psychotherapy) to aid competency achievement, this is a great opportunity for experienced psychiatrists, looking to make the next move in their career.
