Dr. Ellahham is a recognized innovative leader in quality, safety, patient experience, artificial intelligence, blockchain, telehealth, clinical cardiology, and the use of robust performance improvement in improving healthcare delivery. Dr. Ellahham is American Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, Vascular Medicine, and American Board of Medical Quality. He was recently recertified in 2017 by the American Board of Cardiology (ABIM). He is a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) by The National Association for Healthcare Quality (NAHQ), certified in Medical Quality (CMQ) by The American Board of Medical Quality (ABMQ), certified as EFQM Model assessor and Lead Trainer in TeamSTEPPS. Dr. Ellahham is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology, American Heart Association, American College of Chest Physicians, American College of Physicians, and American College of Medical Quality. He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and a key member of Heart Failure and Transplant, Adult Congenital and Pediatric Cardiology, Cardio-oncology, Innovation, Quality, and Peripheral Vascular Disease Sections. He is a Distinguished Fellow of the New Westminster College in British Columbia, Canada, and Advisory Board Member, the University of Wollongong in Dubai.

He led the First AHA GWTG Heart Failure Initiative outside the US and was the recipient of the AHA GWTG Award in Wash. DC. He is the champion of the AHA GWTG in the region. Dr. Ellahham has served as Chief Quality Officer for SKMC from 2009 till 2017. In his role, he has led the development of a quality and program that has been successful and visible and has been recognized internationally by several awards. As Chief Quality Officer and Global Healthcare Leader, he had a focus on ensuring that the implementation of these best practices leads to breakthrough improvements in clinical quality, patient safety, patient experience, and risk management.
Dr. Ellahham was the Executive SKMC sponsor of the American College of Surgeons National Surgical Quality Improvement Program (ACS NSQIP®) the leading US validated, risk-adjusted, outcomes-based program to measure and improve the quality of surgical care. SKMC is the first multispecialty ACS NSQIP center outside the US. He led the publication of, first in the region, annual SKMC outcome books since 2011and he is a strong believer in transparency in health care and external reporting. He was the leader of the First Pilot International Robust Process Improvement (RPI) project by the Joint Commission Center for Transforming Healthcare and several other similar successful performance improvement projects at SKMC. Dr. Ellahham was the Middle East Representative of the JCI Standards Subcommittee and Member on the Editorial Advisory Board of the Joint Commission Journal on Quality and Patient Safety. He was a reviewer of HCAC Cardiac Quality and Safety Standards. Dr. Ellahham has been a champion and leader of the use of Lean, Six Sigma and Change Management to improve healthcare quality and has numerous publications in this area. He is Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt Certified. He is an American Society of Quality (ASQ) trainer in Lean and Six Sigma both green and black belt. He is ISQua Expert.
He received several research awards including the DuPont Pharmaceuticals Research Award, ACCP 58th Annual Scientific Assembly, Young Investigator Award; the Alfred Soffer Research Award, ACCP 58th Annual Scientific Assembly, Finalist; the First Young Investigator Award 12th, Annual Meeting of the Mediterranean Association of Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery, American Heart Association Get with the Guidelines Award, SKMC Infection Prevention Award in 2011 and 2012, Sheikh Khalifa Excellence Award in 2014, Quality Leadership Award from the World Quality Congress and Awards, Business Leadership Excellence Award from World Leadership Congress in 2015, one the nominees for Safe Care magazine Person of the Year in the United States, Dubai Quality Award in 2015 and Sheikh Khalifa Excellence Golden Award in 2015.
Dr. Ellahham received his undergraduate degree in biology and his M.D. from The American University of Beirut, Beirut, Lebanon. Dr. Ellahham finished his internal medicine residency at Georgetown University Hospital - Washington Hospital Center and his fellowship in Cardiology at the Virginia Commonwealth University Health System in the USA. Dr. Ellahham worked in Washington DC at Georgetown University Hospital - Washington Hospital Center and in several clinical and leadership positions before moving to UAE in 2008.

Mr Nathan Nagel is a serial medical entrepreneur with 21 years’ experience in business and 14 years in board leadership positions. In addition to being CEO of MEMP he has a portfolio of current board advisory positions in biotechnology and AI healthtech companies. His executive experience includes CEO at Gamlen Tableting Ltd, Board Adviser at the Mayfair Biohub Ltd, Interim Managing Director of the US liver disease CRO Sanyal Bio LLC, interim CEO of the neuroscience biotechnology company Neuro-Bio Ltd and CEO of the market research company Oncology Pharma Ltd. In parallel to leading Oncology Pharma Ltd Nathan was managing partner of LifeScience Ventures Ltd, a UK consulting company. Prior to leading companies Nathan worked for Bayer Diagnostics and Takeda Pharmaceuticals, where he started his career. Nathan lives in London, Dubai and extensively travels across the Middle East.
DIRECTOR OF AI AND INFORMATICS – PROFESSOR GRAHAM BALL, MA, PhD
Prof Graham Ball is Professor of Bioinformatics at Nottingham Trent University. Prof Ball specialises in the application of innovative artificial intelligence and machine learning methods to the analysis of complex data in the biological, environmental and biomedical domains. For over 30 years, Prof Ball has been a lead figure in the development and validation of bioinformatics algorithms, using Artificial Neural Networks and Machine learning, in health, environmental and biomedical data. He has focussed on applying these approaches to public data repositories leveraging actionable and translational features from the data. He has 190+ journal papers and 7 patents in this area. After a PhD (UN funded) and a Post Doc modelling environmental interactions with Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning at Nottingham Trent University, in 2000 he shifted the focus of his analysis to biomedical data searching for patterns associated with disease.
DIRECTOR OF ONCOLOGY – DR NICK PLOWMAN, MA, MD, FRCP, FRCR
Globally respected oncologist and experienced physician to government leaders and royalty. Senior Clinical Oncologist to St Bartholomew’s Hospital and The Hospital for Sick Children Great Ormond Street. Dr P N Plowman qualified from Cambridge University with a double first in medical sciences and natural sciences and has been a consultant oncologist at St Bartholomew’s Hospital and the Hospital for Sick Children in London for thirty years. His research work has led to the introduction of aromatase inhibitors into breast cancer management and glucocorticoids into advanced prostate cancer management, thereby making significant advantages and changes in best standard care to these two common important cancers. Dr Plowman has forwarded the practice of modern radiotherapy (for example, in children) and will shortly be part of a team introducing Linac-based proton beam radiotherapy into clinical practice
DIRECTOR OF SURGERY – DR MATTEO VIGO, MD and Elite Specialist Plastic Surgeon
Dr. Vigo is currently working in Amwaj Polyclinic as Medical Director and Specialist Plastic Surgeon. He is also working in the Healthbay Clinic. He has recently increased his interest in the field of regenerative medicine with the use of stem cells. His scope of work now it well built around the whole spectrum of breast procedures, where he applies latest technology and techniques combined with his past experience learning from the top surgeons in the field. Dr. Vigo has been the main trainer for all Europe and the Middle East for Celution and Pure Graft systems by Cytori, lecturing in different important congresses around the world. Simon is a leading Chief Data Officer and Data Analyst and was recently voted one of the key influencers and thought leaders within Blockchain by the BBA. Simon was awarded the 2016 Saïd Prize for Strategy & Innovation by Oxford University’s World-leading Saïd Business School. Dr Carlino began his career in the private sector where he managed web-projects across various sectors later heading the software development department for a major US Telco. Since then he has worked on some of the UK’s most high-profile health IT projects and has over 15 years’ experience in technology consulting to the NHS and public sector. DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS IN SAUDI ARABIA – MR BASIT A HAIDARI, BSc, MA
Basit Haidari joined MEMP in 2018 as Government Relations representative in KSA. Currently working as operations Director for MEMP KSA, Basit’s diverse experiences include Academic Consultancies at Institute of Public Administration in Saudi Arabia. Furthermore, Basit is conducting a research within the middle east region in collaboration with University of West London. The area of expertise revolves around Quality of life for Elderly population. Basit has been involved in broad range of projects including Protein Aggregation in Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease and Digital bio sensor for the compliance of medication. Basit has devoted efforts on projects from planning stage through to completion. He has closely worked with senior personnel and industry leaders to ensure projects stay on course, addressing risk management, budgets and overall project feasibility instigating preventive measures to mitigate risks. Basit is diligently passionate and engages with young leaders, creators and thinkers to create more opportunities for the new generation. Husna Ahmad is a global expert on how to create an effective Multicultural and Multifaith working environment in the healthcare facilities. She was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the New Year’s Honours list in 2010 for her services to disadvantaged people for work promoting social justice with disadvantaged communities. She is an honorary fellow of the Edward Cadbury Centre for the Public understanding of Religion, Birmingham University. She is the former Group CEO of Faith Regen Foundation which is a multi-faith UK charity. She is the CEO of Global One which is a faith based International NGO focussed on women. She is a Board member of Faith In Water, Faith for the Climate and Palmers Green Mosque (the MCEC) and a former Board member of BOND. She is a Co-Chair of the UN Inter-agency Task Force on Religion and Development’s Multi-Faith Advisory Council. She sits on the Steering Committee of The World Bank’s Moral Imperative Initiative. She is the Secretary-General of the World Muslim Leadership Forum. Mrs Alison Magnall trained and worked in the NHS. Her career in the UAE spans ten years in regulatory entities in Abu Dhabi and Dubai and her main focus has been on Legislation, Regulation, Accreditation, Governance, Compliance and Policy. Alison is currently an associate lecturer at Murdoch University Dubai teaching Bioethics and Law for healthcare in the postgraduate programme. She has kept in touch with her NHS roots through regular work in the UK. Alison also has a degree in English Language and Literature from Oxford University.

Dr Julian Stone is a serial investor and technology entrepreneur and serves on the board of several medical technology businesses. He has 30 years’ commercial experience with 20 years in medical technology, software, hardware, big data, and analytics. Dr Stone has led teams in both SME’S and multibillion-dollar corporates and has invested and mentored a wide variety of medical technology businesses. He holds a DBA and MBA.
DR DONALD GIBB
Dr Gibb is a serial investor and medical entrepreneur and sits on multiple medical company boards. Dr Gibb is a member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and was awarded the Gold Medal in 1980. He was made a member of the Royal College of Physicians in 1981 and a fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in 1991. In 1990 he was awarded an MD from Edinburgh University for research work on labour and delivery carried out in Singapore.
