NATHAN NAGEL

CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER – NATHAN NAGEL

Mr Nathan Nagel is a serial entrepreneur with 22 years’ experience on the commercial side of healthcare with 12 years’ experience of being an executive director. Nathan has deep connections and understanding of the markets of the Middle East, UK, and USA. He is currently the CEO of Middle East Medical Portal  and MD of Oncology Commercial Services.  His past executive experience includes CEO at Gamlen Tableting Ltd (Pharmaceutical lab testing), Managing Director of Sanyal Bio LLC (Contract Research in Liver disease), CEO of Neuro-Bio Ltd (Neuroscience biotechnology company), CEO of Oncology Pharma Ltd (Market research company), and Managing partner of LifeScience Ventures Ltd (Venture Capital). Prior to leading companies Nathan worked in commercial roles for Bayer Diagnostics and Takeda Pharmaceuticals, where he started his career.

Professor Graham Ball

DIRECTOR OF AI AND INFORMATICS – PROFESSOR GRAHAM BALL, MA, PhD

Prof Graham Ball is Professor of Bioinformatics at Nottingham Trent University. Prof Ball specialises in the application of innovative artificial intelligence and machine learning methods to the analysis of complex data in the biological, environmental and biomedical domains. For over 30 years, Prof Ball has been a lead figure in the development and validation of bioinformatics algorithms, using Artificial Neural Networks and Machine learning, in health, environmental and biomedical data. He has focussed on applying these approaches to public data repositories leveraging actionable and translational features from the data. He has 190+ journal papers and 7 patents in this area. After a PhD (UN funded) and a Post Doc modelling environmental interactions with Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning at Nottingham Trent University, in 2000 he shifted the focus of his analysis to biomedical data searching for patterns associated with disease.

Dr Nick Plowman

DIRECTOR OF ONCOLOGY – DR NICK PLOWMAN, MA, MD, FRCP, FRCR

Globally respected oncologist and experienced physician to government leaders and royalty. Senior Clinical Oncologist to St Bartholomew’s Hospital and The Hospital for Sick Children Great Ormond Street. Dr P N Plowman qualified from Cambridge University with a double first in medical sciences and natural sciences and has been a consultant oncologist at St Bartholomew’s Hospital and the Hospital for Sick Children in London for thirty years. His research work has led to the introduction of aromatase inhibitors into breast cancer management and glucocorticoids into advanced prostate cancer management, thereby making significant advantages and changes in best standard care to these two common important cancers. Dr Plowman has forwarded the practice of modern radiotherapy (for example, in children) and will shortly be part of a team introducing Linac-based proton beam radiotherapy into clinical practice

CHIEF OF SURGICAL EDUCATION AND ROBOTIC SURGERY – DR MAHIR YOUSIF FRCSEng, JBS, FMAS, DMAS

Dr Mahir is a General Surgeon with over 12 years of experience with a special interest and training in robotic surgery. He has worked with government, private and military hospitals in Jordan, UAE and UK. He earned his medical degree, MBBS, in 2008 from Jordan University of Science and Technology and his postgraduate Diploma in Minimal Access Surgery in 2013. He has finished a 5 year postgraduate accredited surgical training program in Jordan and England and passed the Jordanian Board of Surgery along with the FRCS examinations in 2016. Before joining the Middle East Medical Portal, he was lastly working in Dubai Healthcare City at Dr Sulaiman AlHabib in DHCC for 3 years occupying a General Surgery specialist position and Chief of Resident doctors in the hospital. In his last job, at Dr Sulaiman AlHabib hospital,  in addition to surgical duties, he was responsible for the staffing of doctors, quality and compliance, international accreditation, starting of new services and being the interim medical director to liaise with the DHA in the COVID19 crisis. Before Sulaiman AlHabib he was working in UK before as a General Surgery Specialist Registrar. He has a full Jordanian General Surgery Board, Full FRCS and full GMC registration along with DHA, DHCC specialist surgeon licenses.

DIRECTOR OF PLASTIC SURGERY – DR MATTEO VIGO, MD and Elite Specialist Plastic Surgeon

Dr. Vigo is currently working in Amwaj Polyclinic as Medical Director and Specialist Plastic Surgeon. He is also working in the Healthbay Clinic. He has recently increased his interest in the field of regenerative medicine with the use of stem cells. His scope of work now it well built around the whole spectrum of breast procedures, where he applies latest technology and techniques combined with his past experience learning from the top surgeons in the field. Dr. Vigo has been the main trainer for all Europe and the Middle East for Celution and Pure Graft systems by Cytori, lecturing in different important congresses around the world. In 2012 he started working in Dubai as a Chief of Surgery and Chief Medical Officer at American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery Hospital, until March 2017. His qualifications include Specialization in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery – University of Verona (Italy), Fellowship in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery- Department of Plastic Surgery and burns, Centre – Ospedale Maggior Borgo Trento – Verona and a degree in Medicine and Surgery – University Vita-Salute san Raffele Milano (Italy)

Member of the EU funding task force ministry of Higher Education and scientific research and project office in the ShERACA Plus EU funding project. DR ASA BAPAT – DIRECTOR OF  REGENERATIVE MEDICINE AND REGULATORY AFFAIRS 

Dr Asawari Bapat (Aasa) is the Director of Quality and Regulatory Affairs, at Infohealth FZE, based in Dubai and US; a Global Consultant for medical labs and cellular therapies for excellence in quality, regulatory compliance, accreditations and certifications; International Ambassador, AABB (American Association of Blood Banks) for cellular therapies in the Middle East; Advisor to the Parents Guide to Cord Blood foundation; Ex-chair for laying down Cord Blood banking regulations in India associated with DCGI, ICMR India. Dr Bapat qualifications include M.B.B.S, D.P.B (CPS, Clinical Pathology), P.G.D.H.H.M (Hospital and Healthcare Management).

DR HUNSA AHMED PhD, OBE – ‘INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS’ AND ‘DIVERSITY, EQUALITY AND INCLUSION EXPERT

Husna Ahmad was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the New Year’s Honours list in 2010 for her services to disadvantaged people for work promoting social justice with disadvantaged communities. She is an honorary fellow of the Edward Cadbury Centre for the Public understanding of Religion, Birmingham University. She is the former Group CEO of Faith Regen Foundation which is a multi-faith UK charity. She is the CEO of Global One which is a faith based International NGO focussed on women. She is a Board member of Faith In Water, Faith for the Climate and Palmers Green Mosque (the MCEC) and a former Board member of BOND. She is a Co-Chair of the UN Inter-agency Task Force on Religion and Development’s Multi-Faith Advisory Council. She sits on the Steering Committee of The World Bank’s Moral Imperative Initiative. She is the Secretary General of the World Muslim Leadership Forum. She is the Coordinator for the Alliance of NGOs and CSOs for South-South Cooperation [ANSSC] which works in collaboration with the UNOSSC. She holds a PhD in International Environmental Law from the School of Oriental and African Studies, [SOAS] London University.

ALISON MAGNALL – LEAD NURSE AND CLINICAL ADVISER 

Alison is a sophisticated, well respected and effective healthcare professional proven in achieving best outcomes in healthcare and academic settings and working with the Middle East Medical Portal since January 2019. She is a practicing Nurse in Oxford as well as providing consultancy for a number of projects. Her main strengths are in communication, teaching and presenting, teamworking, project and quality management, regulation and accreditation, research, strategic planning, business partnerships, and change management in the UK and Middle East. In addition to her clinical qualifications Alison has a Bachelor’s Degree in English Language and Literature and a Master’s Degree in Humanities from Oxford University.
