UAE’s Thumbay Group Founder and President, Thumbay Moideen, has expressed his desire to establish a branch of the Gulf Medical University in Egypt, with investments worth AED 1bn/EGP 5 bn. The announcement was made after a meeting with the Egyptian Minister of Investment and International Cooperation, Sahar Nasr. The goal of the project is to build a medical park that offers comprehensive healthcare, and provides training for young health workers. Moideen informed the Minister that the Gulf Medical University adopts the latest education and training techniques in all medical branches such as the virtual patient – an interactive software simulating clinical processes. The Gulf Medical University in Ajman, UAE was founded in 1998 and is one of the first private medical universities in the Middle East.
